Pete Rose

Peter Edward Rose Sr., nicknamed “Charlie Hustle”, was an American professional baseball player and manager. He played in Major League Baseball from 1963 to 1986, most prominently as a member of the Cincinnati Reds lineup known as the Big Red Machine for their dominance of the National League in the 1970s.

Even though the 1963 NL Rookie of the Year, 1973 MVP and 1975 World Series MVP isn’t in the Hall of Fame, Rose’s accomplishments are found all over Cooperstown.

In August 1989 (his last year as a manager and three years after retiring as a player), Rose was penalized with permanent ineligibility from baseball amid accusations that he gambled on baseball games while he played for and managed the Reds; the charges of wrongdoing included claims that he bet on his own team.

We still feel his personal flaws or misconduct should not have kept him out of the HOF.  With all of his accomplishments, including the all time hits leader at 4,256 career hits, he still got snubbed.

Pete Rosa passed away on September 30, 2024 (age 83 years) in Las Vegas, NV.

We have some awesome autographed memorabilia of Rose in our shop at excellent prices!  When Rose passed, we didn’t raise prices to capitalize on his unfortunate passing.  We always do our best to keep items prices as low as we can.
