Buddy Turner brings blanks to life on a lathe, by turning blanks into unique one-of-a-kind pieces of art. Buddy has always loved tinkering with making pens as a hobby, but not necessarily as a business. SamJot Pens is named after Buddy’s two children, Samantha and Jot.
Unfortunately, on January 31, 2024, the Turner Family was changed forever. They lost their son Jot. Jot had a servant’s heart. He genuinely loved being around people and in his spare time was a self-taught musician, playing guitar, writing songs and playing in their garage band. Jot was only 17 years old.
After Jot passed, the Turner family set-up the Jot Turner Memorial Scholarship fund. Funds are used to establish a scholarship endowment to assist Mustang High School (OK) with educational expenses and for suicide awareness/prevention.
When Buddy is in the shop turning pens, he is in a place where he can take his mind off what he has lost. Buddy can get lost in his work, while spending time with his son. With every pen that Buddy sells (when he isn’t giving them away), he donates over 50% of the proceeds to the Scholarship and the rest goes back into making more pens. Buddy’s goal is for everyone in the WORLD to have a SamJot custom pen, so that Jot’s story/memory can be spread worldwide. If Jot’s story helps even one family or individual, it has done its job.
There is now passion, comfort and purpose behind pen making, and Buddy is on a mission.

HAND TURNED PENS
$15 from every pen sold is contributed to The Jot Turner Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Jot was the son of our good friend in Oklahoma, Buddy Turner. Jot took his own life at 17 and the scholarship is in his honor. The pens represent Jot and help spread the word for suicide prevention and online bullying.
